Why do you need to update the firmware of the receiving card and the control card?

Huidu receiving card and the controller are the core control components of the LED display. The firmware update can match the ICs of different brands and models with different functions, so that the LED display module can display normally, and at the same time, can bring the following optimizations:

• Fix known issues: solve the compatibility or stability issues of the old version of the firmware.
• New features: support higher resolution, better color performance, or new control protocols.
• Improve performance: optimize data transmission speed, reduce freezes or flickers.
• Regular firmware upgrades can ensure long-term stable operation of the LED display.

 Preparation before upgrading

Confirm the device model
Check the label of the receiving card (such as R708, R712, R716, R732, R5S…) to ensure that the correct firmware version is downloaded.

Download the firmware file
Download from HDSET or obtain from the LED display supplier.

Tool preparation
Hardware: Computer, WIFI or network cable, depending on the receiving card and control card interface.

Software: Download HDPLAY or HDSET.

Backup data

Save the configuration files of the current receiving card and control card to prevent parameter loss after upgrading.

OPEN HDPLAY–Setting — Hardware Setting — Password “168”

Press “firmware upgrade”

First, you need to press the “detection” button to check the current version of the receiving cards and how many of receiving cards.

Then you can choose the correct firmware file from the left list, or you can select the firmware from your computer.

After you select the firmware file, press the “update firmware” button.

After the upgrade, it is best to turn off the LED display for 30 seconds, then turn on the LED display to check whether the firmware version has been successfully upgraded and whether the LED display is normal. If not, the loader program of the LED display may be lost after the upgrade, and the receiving card’s SSR file needs to be reloaded.

Huidu Controller firmware update

Check the label of the Huidu control card (such as D16L, C08L, C16L, A3L, A4L, A5L, B6L…) to ensure that the correct firmware version is downloaded.

Download the firmware file
Download the latest version of “HDPLAY”(can download firmware directly) or obtain it from the LED Screen manufacturer.

Before upgrading, you must ensure that the computer is connected to the controller. You can connect via WIFI or an Ethernet cable.

Open “HDPLAY” —  Control — Firmware updating — Password “168”

You can select the Huidu control card firmware from your computer, then press the “update” button.

If you do not have the correct firmware, you can press the “manage” button, then press the “FPGA DOWNLOAD” button, to download the correct firmware.
