How To Protect Led Display Screens

一、Good daily habits is the most important:

1.Standardizing power on and off, this is the most important first step.

Power on: First start the signal source device, such as computer, set top box, then turn on the power of the led display.

Shutdown: Turn off the led display power first, then turn off the signal source device.

The reason for this operation is to avoid the high current pulse generated by the signal source at the moment of startup and shutdown from impacting the driver chip of the display screen and causing damage.

2.Avoid freezing, preventing image burn.

Do not allow the same static image such as software interface, logo, paused video to be displayed on the screen for more than 2 hours.

Recommendation: If you do not use the device for a long time, please let the screen play dynamic screen saver or turn off the device directly, this will ensure that all the lamp beads age evenly, and avoid premature attenuation of some areas due to long term high brightness operation, resulting in afterimages that cannot be eliminated.

3.Lower the brightness: Reduce the burden on the display.

Manually adjust the display brightness according to the ambient light during the day and night. 100% brightness is not always required.

The advantage of this operation is that properly reducing the brightness can not only save energy, but also significantly reduce the operating temperature of the screen, thereby effectively delaying the aging of the lamp beads and internal components. This is the lowest cost and most effective maintenance method.

二、Daily cleaning and basic environmental maintenance:

1.Gentle dust removal:

After powering off, use a soft brush to gently sweep away the dust on the surface, or use a hair dryer on cold air to blow away the dust in the gaps, then use a microfiber cloth such as the cloth used to wipe glasses and lenses to gently wipe the screen.

Do not blow directly with your mouth there will be water vapor, or rub hard with a rough rag or paper towel it will scratch the surface.

2.Treating stains:

For fingerprints, oil stains, etc., you can buy high-purity anhydrous alcohol 99% concentration or above, and spray a small amount of it on a soft cloth, wait until the cloth is slightly wet, and then gently wipe the screen, anhydrous alcohol evaporates quickly, does not leave water marks, and is very safe.

It is strictly forbidden to clean directly with water, wet towels, or any household cleaners such as glass water, detergent, these will cause short circuits or chemical corrosion.

3.Ensure screen space heat dissipation:

Make sure there is enough space around the display, especially on the back, to dissipate heat and not be blocked by debris.

Regularly check whether the vents are blocked by dust, if there is a serious accumulation of dust, clean them promptly with a vacuum cleaner low power or a brush.

三、Daily observation and simple inspection:

1.Check the screen to see if there are any bad pixels that are constantly on or off and are there any abnormal color blocks or areas.

2.Listen to the sound during operation to see if there is any abnormal current sound or noise.

3.Smell whether there is a burning smell.

4.While ensuring safety, feel the screen surface temperature with the back of your hand to see if it is abnormally high.

四、Professional maintenance and monitoring:

1.The attenuation rate of led lamp beads varies from person to person, and problems such as uneven color and color temperature drift may occur after long term use.

2.Professional calibration equipment can accurately compensate the brightness and color of each pixel, restoring the uniformity and accuracy of the display color, and it is recommended to perform calibration every 1 to 2 years.

3.Check all screws, locks and connectors regularly to see if they are loose, especially for outdoor screens, which are easily loosened due to wind vibration and temperature difference, there are potential safety hazards.

4.Power supplies, receiving cards, modules and other vulnerable or core components should always be available, when a fault occurs, they can be replaced immediately to minimize downtime.

五、Emergency protection in severe weather:

1.During typhoons and strong winds, check the structural strength in advance and lower the screen height or take reinforcement measures if necessary.

2.During thunderstorms, ensure that the lightning protection system operates normally, if the thunderstorm is severe, consider temporarily shutting down the system and cutting off power.

3.Clear snow promptly during heavy snow to prevent excessive snow from damaging structures or leaking water after melting.
